Responsibilities
- Safely operate commercial delivery trucks (Class A or Class B) to deliver freight to customers in and around the Chicago metropolitan area.
- Perform pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections to ensure safety compliance and identify maintenance needs.
- Load and unload cargo securely, ensuring proper weight distribution and securing freight with straps and bars.
- Maintain accurate electronic logging device (ELD) records and delivery logs in accordance with FMCSA regulations.
- Provide exceptional customer service by interacting professionally with clients during deliveries and pickups.
- Adhere to all company safety policies, traffic laws, and DOT regulations at all times.
- Keep the truck clean and organized, including the cab and cargo area.
Qualifications
- Valid Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) with the appropriate class (Class A or Class B) and endorsements.
- Minimum of 0-2 years of driving experience (Entry Level applicants welcome with willingness to train).
- Current Medical Examiner's Certificate (DOT Physical).
- Clean driving record with no major traffic violations within the last 3 years.
- Ability to pass a background check and drug screen.
- Strong communication skills and a customer service-oriented mindset.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform physical tasks associated with loading/unloading cargo.
