Responsibilities
- Operate commercial delivery trucks (Class A or B) safely and efficiently on assigned routes.
- Load and unload cargo using proper lifting techniques and equipment.
- Verify delivery destinations and obtain signatures for all shipments.
- Complete daily vehicle inspections and log maintenance requirements.
- Adhere strictly to all traffic laws, DOT regulations, and company safety policies.
- Communicate effectively with dispatch and customers regarding delivery status and any delays.
- Maintain a clean and organized truck cab and cargo area.
Qualifications
- Valid Commercial Driver's License (CDL) Class A or Class B required.
- Current Medical Examiner's Certificate (MEC) and DOT Medical Card.
- Minimum of 2 years of verifiable driving experience in a commercial setting.
- Clean driving record (MVR) with no major violations in the last 3 years.
- Ability to pass a background check and drug screen.
- Strong knowledge of local Chicago and Illinois roadways.
- Basic math skills for cash handling and inventory management.
