Responsibilities
- Safely operate commercial motor vehicles (CMVs) in accordance with all Federal and State regulations, including DOT and FMCSA standards.
- Perform pre-trip, en route, and post-trip vehicle inspections and report any mechanical issues immediately.
- Load and unload freight securely, ensuring cargo safety during transit.
- Maintain accurate driver logs (DVIR) and records of duty status (RODS) compliant with Hours of Service (HOS) regulations.
- Practice defensive driving techniques to ensure the safety of yourself, your cargo, and the public.
- Communicate effectively with dispatch and customers regarding delivery schedules and any delays.
- Adhere to company policies, safety protocols, and professional conduct standards at all times.
Qualifications
- Valid CDL Class A or Class B license with the appropriate endorsements (Tanker, Hazmat, or Doubles/Triples preferred but not always required).
- Achieve a passing score on the company's pre-employment drug screen and background check.
- Must have a clean Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) with no more than two preventable accidents in the past three years.
- At least 1-2 years of verifiable commercial driving experience preferred.
- Ability to pass a DOT physical examination to obtain a Medical Examiner's Certificate.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
- Must be a US Citizen or possess the legal right to work in the United States.
