Job Overview
We are looking for self-motivated individuals who take pride in their equipment and service. As an Owner Operator with Blue Ridge, you will represent our brand and ensure the safe delivery of goods to our clients.
Responsibilities
- Operate box truck (Class C or B) safely and efficiently to meet delivery deadlines and schedules.
- Load and unload freight using proper safety equipment, including lift gates, pallet jacks, and straps.
- Conduct daily pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections to ensure DOT compliance and vehicle safety.
- Maintain accurate records of cargo, mileage, and hours of service (HOS) in accordance with FMCSA regulations.
- Communicate effectively with dispatch, brokers, and end customers to ensure a smooth delivery process.
- Keep the truck and cargo area clean, organized, and presentable at all times.
- Adhere to all traffic laws, safety regulations, and company policies.
Qualifications
- Ownership: Must own a 26' box truck or similar straight truck (Class C or Class B).
- Documentation: Valid DOT medical card, liability insurance, and current registration.
- Experience: Minimum 1-2 years of verifiable driving experience in the logistics or transportation industry.
- Skills: Ability to operate loading dock equipment and secure cargo properly.
- Physical Requirements: Ability to lift up to 50 lbs repeatedly and stand for extended periods during loading/unloading.
- License: Valid Commercial Driver's License (CDL) or valid state driver's license (Class C with endorsements preferred).
