Responsibilities
- Operate box trucks (10-26 ft) for local and regional delivery routes within the Detroit metro area.
- Ensure the safe and timely delivery of cargo while adhering to all FMCSA and DOT regulations.
- Handle the loading and unloading of freight efficiently and professionally.
- Perform pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections to ensure the truck is road-ready and clean.
- Maintain accurate logs and documentation for all deliveries.
- Communicate effectively with dispatch, customers, and brokers to resolve any issues immediately.
- Adhere to company safety policies and traffic laws at all times.
Qualifications
- Must own a clean, reliable box truck in good mechanical condition.
- Valid Commercial Driver's License (CDL) Class A or B preferred (Class B often sufficient for box trucks).
- Valid DOT Medical Card must be current.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in local delivery or truck driving.
- Ability to lift and handle freight weighing up to 50 pounds repeatedly.
- Strong customer service skills and a professional attitude.
- Must have a clean driving record (MVR check required).
