Responsibilities
- Safely operate a 26-foot box truck or straight truck to transport goods to and from designated locations in Baltimore, MD, and surrounding areas.
- Perform thorough pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections to ensure safety compliance and vehicle readiness.
- Load and unload freight efficiently, ensuring cargo security and proper handling of sensitive materials.
- Utilize company-provided electronic logging devices (ELD) to maintain accurate and compliant driving records.
- Communicate effectively with dispatch and customers regarding delivery schedules and potential delays.
- Maintain a clean, professional appearance and uphold the company's reputation for excellence in customer service.
- Adhere to all local, state, and federal traffic laws and Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations.
Qualifications
- Valid Class B Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with a clean driving record (MVR).
- Current Medical Examiner's Certificate (DOT Physical).
- Minimum of 2 years of verifiable experience driving a box truck or similar commercial vehicle.
- Ability to pass a comprehensive background check and drug screen.
- Strong commitment to safety and time management.
- Own a reliable, well-maintained box truck suitable for long-haul or local regional work.
- Excellent customer service skills and the ability to work independently.
