Responsibilities
- Safely operate and maintain box truck assets (26' - 53') for regional freight delivery
- Manage timely pickup/delivery operations across Ohio, Michigan, and Indiana corridors
- Maintain accurate trip documentation and electronic logging compliance
- Coordinate with dispatch team for optimal route planning and load optimization
- Ensure cargo security and proper handling of temperature-sensitive shipments
- Conduct pre/post-trip inspections and report maintenance needs promptly
- Build client relationships through professional service delivery
Qualifications
- Valid Class A or B CDL with clean driving record (no more than 2 moving violations in 3 years)
- Minimum 2 years verifiable box truck or straight truck experience
- Proof of commercial liability insurance ($1M minimum)
- DOT medical certification and current TWIC card (if applicable)
- Reliable box truck (2008+ model) in good mechanical condition
- Smartphone with reliable internet for dispatch communication
- Basic accounting software proficiency for independent contractor reporting
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs occasionally
