Responsibilities
- Safely operate box trucks for regional freight delivery in Southern California
- Maintain accurate delivery logs and electronic documentation
- Coordinate with dispatch for optimal routing and on-time deliveries
- Perform daily vehicle inspections and preventive maintenance
- Provide exceptional customer service during residential/commercial deliveries
- Manage cargo loading/unloading with proper equipment handling
- Adhere to FMCSA regulations and safety protocols
- Submit weekly performance and expense reports
Qualifications
- Valid Class B CDL with clean MVR (no major violations in 3 years)
- Minimum 2 years box truck or straight truck experience
- Own DOT-compliant box truck (26' max length preferred)
- Proof of commercial auto insurance ($1M liability minimum)
- Strong knowledge of San Diego County geography
- Ability to lift up to 75 lbs occasionally
- Smartphone with reliable GPS and data access
- Basic accounting software familiarity for expense tracking
