Responsibilities
- Operate box truck safely and efficiently for local/regional freight routes
- Maintain accurate delivery documentation and customer communication
- Perform daily vehicle inspections and preventive maintenance checks
- Optimize routes to maximize delivery efficiency and fuel savings
- Uphold strict on-time performance standards for all shipments
- Coordinate with dispatch team for seamless load transitions
- Ensure compliance with DOT regulations and safety protocols
- Manage administrative tasks including billing and expense tracking
Qualifications
- Valid Class A or B CDL with clean driving record
- Minimum 2 years box truck or commercial driving experience
- Reliable late-model box truck (2015 or newer) required
- Proof of commercial insurance ($1M liability minimum)
- Strong knowledge of Bakersfield and surrounding areas
- Excellent time management and customer service skills
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs occasionally
- Smartphone with reliable internet access
