Responsibilities
- Safely operate a box truck (24-26 ft) for local and regional deliveries in the DC metropolitan area
- Maintain accurate delivery logs, vehicle maintenance records, and required documentation
- Load/unload freight efficiently using provided equipment and manual labor when needed
- Adhere strictly to DOT regulations, safety protocols, and delivery time windows
- Communicate proactively with dispatch team and clients regarding delivery status
- Perform daily vehicle inspections and minor preventative maintenance
- Manage route optimization to maximize daily mileage and profitability
Qualifications
- Valid Class B Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with clean driving record
- Minimum 2 years of box truck driving experience in commercial freight
- Reliable box truck (24-26 ft) with valid registration and insurance
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs repeatedly and operate loading equipment
- Strong knowledge of DC metro area roadways and traffic patterns
- DOT medical certification and compliance with FMCSA regulations
- Excellent time management and customer communication skills
