Responsibilities
- Safely operate school bus on assigned routes following NJ traffic laws
- Conduct pre-trip/post-trip vehicle inspections
- Supervise student boarding, seating, and exiting
- Maintain discipline and ensure student safety during transit
- Communicate effectively with parents, school staff, and dispatch
- Adhere to strict schedules and maintain route logs
- Report mechanical issues or student incidents immediately
Qualifications
- Valid NJ Driver's License (minimum 2 years clean record)
- Ability to pass DOT physical and drug screening
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Excellent communication and customer service skills
- Patience and ability to work with children
- Basic knowledge of Newark streets and neighborhoods
- Willingness to complete CDL training program
