Responsibilities
- Safely transport students to/from schools and field trips adhering to strict schedules
- Conduct pre/post-trip vehicle inspections and maintain clean buses
- Enforce safety protocols and manage student behavior during transit
- Communicate effectively with parents, school staff, and dispatch
- Follow all federal/state transportation regulations and GPS routing
- Complete daily logs and incident reports accurately
- Assist students with mobility needs and emergency procedures
Qualifications
- Valid Illinois Commercial Driver's License (Class B with P/S endorsement)
- Minimum 1 year driving experience or willingness to complete CDL training
- Pass federal background check and drug screening
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for extended periods
- Strong communication and conflict resolution skills
- Experience working with children preferred
- Excellent driving record with no major violations in past 3 years
