Responsibilities
- Safely transport students on designated routes following strict schedules and safety protocols
- Conduct pre-trip inspections of buses and report maintenance needs
- Manage student behavior with positive reinforcement and clear communication
- Maintain accurate attendance and route documentation
- Adhere to all federal, state, and school district transportation regulations
- Assist students with mobility needs and ensure secure seating
- Respond appropriately to emergencies and incidents during transit
Qualifications
- Valid Illinois Driver's License with clean driving record (3+ years)
- Ability to obtain Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with School Bus Endorsement
- Pass background check and drug screening
- Experience working with children or preferred customer service background
- Strong communication and conflict resolution skills
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and operate bus controls
- Flexibility to adjust routes during school holidays or emergencies
