Responsibilities
- Safely transport students to and from school destinations following assigned routes
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections to ensure mechanical safety
- Maintain accurate attendance logs and incident reports
- Enforce bus safety rules and provide clear instructions to students
- Communicate effectively with parents, school staff, and dispatchers
- Adapt to route changes and weather conditions while maintaining schedules
- Keep bus interior clean and well-maintained
Qualifications
- Valid New York State CDL with passenger endorsement (Class B or C)
- Minimum 2 years of professional driving experience
- Pass Department of Transportation physical examination
- Clear background check and driving record (no major violations)
- Ability to work early morning and afternoon shifts
- First Aid/CPR certification preferred
- Strong communication and conflict resolution skills
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs for emergency situations
