Responsibilities
- Operate commercial vehicles (Class A or B) safely and efficiently in accordance with all traffic laws and company policies.
- Perform thorough pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections to ensure safety and regulatory compliance.
- Load and unload cargo accurately, ensuring goods are secure for transport and handling.
- Maintain accurate electronic logging device (ELD) logs and adhere strictly to Hours of Service (HOS) regulations.
- Communicate effectively with dispatch, customers, and team members regarding delivery schedules and any route changes.
- Keep the truck cabin and cargo area clean, organized, and professional at all times.
Qualifications
- Valid Commercial Driver's License (CDL) Class A or Class B with a clean driving record (no major violations within the last 3 years).
- Minimum of 2 years of verifiable driving experience in a commercial setting.
- Ability to pass a Department of Transportation (DOT) physical exam and drug screening.
- Strong knowledge of New York roadways, traffic regulations, and bridge tolls.
- Basic mechanical skills to handle minor vehicle maintenance issues independently.
- Willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays when necessary.
