Responsibilities
- Operate box truck safely and efficiently for local/regional freight deliveries
- Maintain accurate delivery logs and documentation for weekly payroll processing
- Coordinate with dispatch team for optimal route planning and on-time pickups/deliveries
- Perform pre/post-trip inspections and basic maintenance to ensure DOT compliance
- Provide exceptional customer service during delivery interactions
- Manage inventory and secure cargo according to safety protocols
- Communicate proactively about delivery status and potential delays
Qualifications
- Valid Class B CDL with clean driving record (no major violations in 3 years)
- Minimum 2 years box truck or commercial driving experience
- Reliable box truck (2005 or newer, under 200,000 miles) with current insurance
- Strong knowledge of Kansas City metro area and regional highways
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs occasionally and operate loading equipment
- Basic mechanical aptitude for minor troubleshooting
- Smartphone with reliable data for dispatch communication
- Self-motivated with time management and problem-solving skills
