Responsibilities
- Manage and operate box truck for local freight delivery within Jacksonville metropolitan area
- Maintain accurate delivery logs and paperwork for each shipment
- Ensure cargo safety through proper loading, securing, and unloading procedures
- Adhere strictly to DOT regulations and safety protocols
- Communicate proactively with dispatch team and clients regarding delivery status
- Perform routine vehicle maintenance checks and report mechanical issues promptly
- Optimize delivery routes for maximum efficiency and on-time performance
Qualifications
- Valid Class A or B CDL with clean driving record (no major violations in past 3 years)
- Minimum 2 years of box truck or straight truck driving experience
- Reliable late-model box truck (2015 or newer) in good mechanical condition
- Proof of commercial auto insurance ($1M liability coverage)
- Ability to pass background check and drug screening
- Strong time management and customer service skills
- Basic knowledge of Jacksonville area geography and traffic patterns
