Responsibilities
- Safely operate commercial trucks and vans to deliver cargo to designated locations within Washington DC and surrounding areas.
- Perform pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections to ensure compliance with DOT regulations and safety standards.
- Load and unload freight securely, ensuring cargo is protected from damage during transit.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date electronic logging devices (ELD) and delivery documentation.
- Adhere strictly to all traffic laws, safety protocols, and company policies.
- Communicate professionally with dispatch and clients regarding delivery schedules and any potential delays.
- Keep the vehicle interior and exterior clean and organized at all times.
Qualifications
- Clean Class A or Class B Commercial Driverβs License (CDL) with required endorsements (Tanker, Hazmat, or Doubles/Triples may be preferred).
- Minimum of 2 years of verifiable commercial driving experience in the last 3 years.
- Current DOT Medical Card and a driving record that meets our safety standards (no major violations).
- Must be available to work weekends (Saturday and Sunday) on a rotating or fixed shift.
- Strong understanding of navigation systems and route planning software.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs repeatedly and perform physical tasks associated with loading and unloading.
- Must pass a background check and drug screening.
