Responsibilities
- Operate commercial trucks (Class A or B) safely and efficiently over designated routes.
- Load and unload cargo using proper equipment, including forklifts and pallet jacks, ensuring weight distribution is correct.
- Conduct thorough pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections to ensure compliance with DOT regulations and vehicle safety.
- Maintain accurate delivery logs and electronic logging device (ELD) records to ensure regulatory compliance.
- Adhere to all traffic laws, company policies, and Georgia state regulations.
- Communicate effectively with dispatch and customers regarding delivery times and any delays.
- Perform basic vehicle maintenance checks and report any mechanical issues immediately.
Qualifications
- Valid Commercial Driver's License (CDL) Class A or B with a clean driving record.
- Minimum of 2 years of verifiable truck driving experience preferred.
- Must be available for weekend shifts (Saturday and Sunday) on a regular basis.
- Ability to pass a Department of Transportation (DOT) physical examination and drug screen.
- Strong knowledge of Georgia traffic laws and interstate highway systems.
- Excellent time management skills and the ability to meet tight delivery deadlines.
- Willingness to submit to a background check and provide a valid Medical Card.
