Responsibilities
- Safely operate Class A commercial vehicles for weekend delivery routes throughout NYC, NJ, and CT
- Adhere to strict DOT regulations, HOS compliance, and company safety protocols
- Perform pre-trip inspections, documentation, and basic vehicle maintenance checks
- Coordinate with dispatch team for efficient route optimization and on-time deliveries
- Handle specialized freight including temperature-controlled and hazardous materials (with proper endorsements)
- Maintain accurate delivery logs, mileage reports, and electronic logging system
- Provide exceptional customer service during delivery interactions
Qualifications
- Valid Class A CDL license with clean driving record (no major violations in past 3 years)
- Minimum 2 years verifiable tractor-trailer experience
- Knowledge of NYC traffic patterns, bridge heights, and delivery restrictions
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work in various weather conditions
- Pass DOT physical examination and drug screening
- HAZMAT endorsement preferred but not required
- Experience with electronic logging devices (ELD) and GPS navigation systems
- Strong communication skills and attention to detail
