Responsibilities
- Operate Commercial Vehicles: Safely operate heavy-duty commercial trucks (Class A or B) to transport cargo to designated delivery points in Miami and surrounding areas.
- Pre-Trip & Post-Trip Inspections: Conduct thorough inspections of the vehicle's mechanical and safety systems before and after each shift to ensure compliance with FMCSA regulations.
- Load & Unload Cargo: Securely load and unload freight using appropriate tie-downs and equipment, ensuring cargo safety during transit.
- Route Planning: Utilize GPS and route planning software to determine the most efficient path, adhering to traffic laws and delivery schedules.
- Documentation: Accurately complete delivery receipts, bills of lading, and logbooks (ELD) in compliance with DOT regulations.
- Customer Service: Interact professionally with customers and warehouse staff to resolve any delivery discrepancies or issues.
Qualifications
- Valid CDL License: Must possess a valid Class A or Class B Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with the appropriate endorsements (e.g., Hazardous Materials, Tanker) as required by the role.
- Driving Record: Clean driving record with no more than 2 moving violations in the past 3 years and a satisfactory Motor Vehicle Report (MVR).
- Experience: Minimum of 1 year of professional driving experience in a similar role.
- Availability: Must be available to work weekends (Friday through Sunday) and be willing to work overtime during peak seasons.
- Physical Requirements: Ability to lift up to 50 lbs repeatedly, climb in and out of the cab, and pass a DOT physical examination.
- Communication: Strong verbal communication skills and the ability to follow written and oral instructions.
