Responsibilities
- Operate commercial trucks to transport goods to designated delivery points safely and on time.
- Perform pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections to ensure compliance with DOT regulations.
- Load and unload cargo using forklifts or hand jacks, ensuring proper weight distribution.
- Manage time effectively to adhere to strict delivery schedules and routes.
- Maintain accurate logs and paperwork, including delivery receipts and vehicle condition reports.
- Communicate effectively with dispatch and customers regarding delivery updates and issues.
Qualifications
- Valid Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with a clean driving record (MVR).
- Minimum of 2 years of verifiable driving experience in a commercial vehicle.
- Must be at least 21 years of age to operate a commercial vehicle across state lines.
- Ability to pass a Department of Transportation (DOT) physical examination.
- Strong knowledge of traffic laws, safety regulations, and cargo handling procedures.
- Willingness to work weekends (Saturday and Sunday) with occasional overnight travel.
- Basic computer literacy for electronic logging devices (ELD) and paperwork.
