Responsibilities
- Safe Operation: Operate commercial trucks and trailers in compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations, including FMCSA and DOT requirements.
- Delivery & Pickup: Securely load and unload cargo at various locations throughout Louisville and the greater Kentucky region.
- Maintenance: Conduct thorough pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections to ensure the truck is in top mechanical condition.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate logs, delivery receipts, and mileage records in our electronic logging device (ELD).
- Cargo Security: Properly secure freight using straps, chains, and bars to prevent shifting and damage during transit.
- Customer Service: Interact professionally with customers and warehouse staff to resolve any delivery issues promptly.
- Safety Compliance: Adhere to all company safety policies and report any hazards or maintenance issues immediately.
Qualifications
- License: Valid Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) Class A or Class B with the appropriate endorsements (Hazmat or Tanker preferred but not required).
- Medical: Current Medical Examiner’s Certificate (DOT Medical Card) on file.
- Experience: Minimum of 1 year of verifiable commercial driving experience.
- Record: Clean driving record with no more than 2 moving violations in the last 3 years.
- Physical: Ability to lift up to 50 lbs repeatedly, pass a DOT physical examination, and have the stamina to sit for extended periods.
- Schedule: Must be available to work Friday through Sunday, including holidays during peak seasons.
- Tools: Basic understanding of electronic logging devices (ELD) and handheld scanners.
