Responsibilities
- Safely operate a commercial van to pick up and deliver packages and freight to designated locations in the Milwaukee area.
- Load and unload cargo, ensuring items are secured properly to prevent damage during transit.
- Maintain a clean and organized vehicle interior, adhering to all company appearance and cleanliness standards.
- Verify delivery addresses and obtain electronic signatures or proof of delivery when required.
- Perform daily pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections to ensure mechanical safety and compliance.
- Communicate effectively with dispatch and customers regarding delays or issues.
- Adhere to all traffic laws, DOT regulations, and company safety policies at all times.
Qualifications
- Valid Class B Commercial Driver's License (CDL) is preferred but not always required depending on cargo type.
- A clean driving record with no major violations within the last 3 years.
- Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in commercial driving or logistics is highly desirable.
- Ability to lift and carry packages weighing up to 50-75 pounds repeatedly.
- Strong time management skills and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
- Basic knowledge of GPS navigation systems and route planning software.
- Must be willing to pass a background check and drug screening.
