Responsibilities
- Safely Operate Vehicles: Drive company vans and box trucks to deliver goods to commercial and residential locations throughout Los Angeles County.
- Load and Unload Cargo: Secure packages and merchandise using straps and braces, ensuring items are not damaged during transit.
- Route Planning: Utilize GPS systems and route maps to determine the most efficient delivery paths and manage time effectively.
- Customer Service: Interact professionally with customers, including signing for deliveries and resolving any delivery issues on the spot.
- Vehicle Maintenance: Perform daily pre-trip and post-trip inspections, reporting any mechanical issues immediately.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate logs of delivery times, mileage, and incident reports.
Qualifications
- Valid Class B Commercial Driver's License (CDL). (No passengers required).
- Valid DOT Medical Card.
- Clean DMV Record: No major violations or DUIs within the last 3-5 years.
- Previous Experience: Minimum 1-2 years of driving experience in a professional logistics or delivery role.
- Physical Stamina: Ability to lift and carry boxes weighing up to 50 lbs repeatedly throughout the day.
- Local Knowledge: Strong familiarity with the streets, traffic patterns, and neighborhoods of Los Angeles, CA.
- Communication Skills: Excellent verbal communication skills and the ability to use handheld devices for navigation.
