Job Overview:
As a Van Driver, you will be responsible for the safe and timely delivery of goods to clients across the Charlotte metro area. You will represent the face of MetroLink, ensuring our customers receive their packages with a smile and care.
Responsibilities
- Safely operate commercial delivery vans, adhering to all traffic laws and company safety protocols.
- Load and unload cargo efficiently, ensuring items are secured and protected during transit.
- Verify delivery addresses and obtain signatures where necessary to complete delivery logs.
- Perform routine pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections to ensure the van is in optimal condition.
- Provide exceptional customer service during drop-offs and pickups.
- Maintain a clean and organized vehicle interior and exterior at all times.
Qualifications
- Valid Class C Commercial Driver's License (CDL) is preferred but not required for local van routes.
- A current, valid Driver's License with a clean driving record (no more than 2 moving violations in the last 3 years).
- Physically capable of lifting packages weighing up to 50 lbs and standing for extended periods.
- Strong time management skills and the ability to navigate unfamiliar routes using GPS and maps.
- Basic computer literacy for logging delivery data.
- Must be able to pass a background check and drug screening.
