Responsibilities
- Safe & Efficient Delivery: Operate commercial vans to transport goods to residential and commercial locations within the Indianapolis metro area and surrounding regions.
- Load & Unload: Safely load and unload cargo, ensuring all packages are handled with care and are accounted for using handheld scanning devices.
- Customer Service: Interact professionally with clients, ensuring timely deliveries and maintaining a positive company image.
- Vehicle Maintenance: Perform daily pre-trip and post-trip inspections to ensure the van is in optimal operating condition; report any mechanical issues immediately.
- Route Planning: Navigate efficiently using GPS and road maps to follow designated routes while minimizing delays.
- Documentation: Accurately complete delivery logs, bills of lading, and mileage reports as required by company policy and state regulations.
Qualifications
- Valid Driver's License: A valid Class B Commercial Driver's License (CDL) is highly preferred; a valid Class C with a clean driving record will be considered for smaller vans.
- Clean Driving Record: Must possess a clean DMV record with no major violations within the last 3 years.
- Physical Stamina: Ability to lift up to 50 lbs repeatedly and stand for extended periods during loading and unloading.
- Communication Skills: Excellent verbal communication skills to interact with dispatch and customers.
- Attention to Detail: Ability to verify delivery addresses and ensure correct packages are handed over.
- Availability: Must be available to work flexible hours, including weekends and occasional overtime.
