Responsibilities
- Safe Operation: Safely operate commercial vans and delivery vehicles to transport goods to designated locations in Jacksonville and surrounding areas.
- Fleet Management: Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections to ensure vehicle condition and safety compliance.
- Cargo Handling: Load and unload freight, ensuring items are secured properly and protected from damage during transit.
- Accuracy: Verify shipment contents against delivery documents to ensure accuracy and minimize errors.
- Vehicle Care: Maintain a clean and professional vehicle appearance, adhering to all company and DOT cleanliness standards.
- Regulatory Compliance: Observe all traffic laws and safety regulations to ensure the safety of the driver, team, and public.
- Customer Service: Provide exceptional customer service by communicating effectively with clients during deliveries.
Qualifications
- CDL Requirement: Valid Class B Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) with a clean driving record (MVR check required).
- Experience: Minimum of 1-2 years of experience driving commercial vans or box trucks preferred.
- Background Check: Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screen and background check.
- Physical Requirements: Physical ability to lift heavy packages (up to 50 lbs) and stand for extended periods.
- Technical Skills: Familiarity with GPS navigation systems and route planning software is a plus.
- Soft Skills: Strong time management skills and the ability to meet strict delivery deadlines.
