Responsibilities
- Safely load and secure cargo onto the delivery van, ensuring weight distribution is even and items are protected from damage.
- Navigate efficiently through Columbus and surrounding areas using GPS and route planning software to meet delivery deadlines.
- Interact professionally with customers upon delivery, obtaining signatures and feedback to ensure 100% satisfaction.
- Perform daily pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections, reporting any mechanical issues or maintenance needs immediately.
- Keep the vehicle clean, organized, and in compliance with company and DOT standards.
- Maintain accurate delivery logs and paperwork in the company's digital system.
- Follow all traffic laws and safety regulations to ensure a accident-free driving record.
Qualifications
- Valid Class C or Class B Commercial Driver's License (CDL) is preferred but not required for entry-level drivers.
- A clean driving record with no more than 2 moving violations in the last 3 years.
- Ability to lift and carry packages weighing up to 50 lbs repeatedly throughout the shift.
- Strong time management skills and the ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Basic computer literacy for logging deliveries and checking emails.
- Must be at least 21 years of age and pass a background check and drug screen.
- Must have reliable personal transportation to and from the terminal.
