Responsibilities
- Safely operate commercial vans and delivery trucks on assigned routes.
- Load and unload cargo efficiently, ensuring all packages are secure and undamaged.
- Verify delivery addresses and obtain signatures as required for proof of delivery.
- Perform daily pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections to ensure mechanical safety.
- Maintain the cleanliness of the vehicle interior and exterior at all times.
- Communicate professionally with dispatch and customers regarding delays or issues.
- Adhere to all traffic laws and company safety policies.
Qualifications
- Valid Class B Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) is preferred but not always required for smaller vans.
- Clean driving record with no major traffic violations.
- Ability to lift and carry packages weighing up to 50 pounds repeatedly.
- Familiarity with the Philadelphia area and its road network is highly desirable.
- Strong customer service skills and the ability to represent the company professionally.
- Basic computer skills for logging delivery information.
- High school diploma or GED equivalent.
