Responsibilities
- Safely operate Class 8 tractor-trailers for nighttime freight deliveries across San Diego County and Southwest US corridors
- Perform pre/post-trip inspections and DOT-mandated paperwork with meticulous attention to detail
- Adhere to strict HOS regulations and GPS tracking protocols for compliance
- Coordinate with dispatch team for real-time route adjustments and delivery confirmations
- Maintain clean driving record and professional communication with clients
- Handle secure cargo loading/unloading procedures using proper equipment
- Participate in quarterly safety training and equipment certification updates
Qualifications
- Valid Class A CDL with minimum 2 years verifiable tractor-trailer experience
- Spotless driving record (no DUIs, major violations, or at-fault accidents in 3 years)
- Ability to lift 50+ lbs and operate mechanical loading equipment
- Proficient in electronic logging devices (ELD) and GPS navigation systems
- Flexibility to work overnight shifts (10 PM - 6 AM) with variable weekends
- Pass background check and drug screening per DOT/FMCSA standards
- Knowledge of California weight regulations and route planning for oversized loads
- Strong time management and problem-solving skills for unpredictable conditions
