Responsibilities
- Operate commercial trucks to transport goods safely and efficiently to designated locations in Illinois and surrounding regions.
- Conduct thorough pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections to ensure compliance with safety regulations.
- Maintain accurate electronic logging device (ELD) records and adhere to Hours of Service (HOS) rules.
- Load and unload cargo securely using appropriate equipment, ensuring no damage occurs during transit.
- Communicate effectively with dispatch and customers regarding delivery schedules and any delays.
- Adhere to all traffic laws, company policies, and safety protocols at all times.
Qualifications
- Valid Commercial Driver's License (CDL) Class A or Class B with required endorsements (Tanker, Hazmat, Double/Triple Trailers) is a plus but not always required.
- Must pass a comprehensive background check and a Department of Transportation (DOT) physical examination.
- Proven experience in commercial driving is preferred for night shift positions.
- Ability to lift and move cargo weighing up to 50 lbs frequently during loading and unloading.
- Strong time management skills and the ability to work independently during night hours.
- Valid commercial insurance and clean driving record required.
