Responsibilities
- Operate commercial trucks safely and efficiently on designated routes throughout Chicago and surrounding areas.
- Load and unload cargo using proper equipment, ensuring weight distribution and safety standards are met.
- Maintain accurate daily logs (DOT) and vehicle inspection reports (DVIR) before and after every shift.
- Communicate effectively with dispatch and customers regarding delivery times and any delays.
- Adhere to all traffic laws, safety regulations, and company policies at all times.
- Perform routine pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections to ensure the truck is in top working condition.
Qualifications
- Valid Class A or Class B Commercial Driver's License (CDL) required.
- Minimum of 1-2 years of verifiable driving experience.
- Clean driving record with no more than one major moving violation in the last 3 years.
- Ability to pass a DOT physical examination and drug screen.
- Strong knowledge of highway maps and navigation systems.
- Excellent customer service skills and the ability to work independently.
