Responsibilities
- Safely transport students on assigned routes following strict schedules
- Conduct pre-trip inspections and maintain vehicle cleanliness
- Implement student management protocols for a secure environment
- Adhere to all Virginia state transportation regulations
- Communicate effectively with parents, school staff, and dispatch
- Respond to emergencies with calm professionalism
- Maintain accurate attendance and incident reports
Qualifications
- Valid Virginia Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with School Bus endorsement
- Minimum 2 years driving experience (CDL preferred)
- Pass background check, drug screening, and DOT physical
- First Aid/CPR certification (training provided if needed)
- Excellent communication and conflict resolution skills
- Ability to lift 50 lbs and operate wheelchair lifts if required
- Must be 21+ years old with clean driving record
