Responsibilities
- Safely operate school buses on assigned routes following traffic laws and safety protocols
- Conduct pre-trip inspections and report maintenance issues promptly
- Supervise student conduct and ensure a positive, safe environment
- Maintain accurate records including attendance and route documentation
- Communicate effectively with parents, school staff, and transportation supervisors
- Adhere to emergency procedures and student management protocols
Qualifications
- Valid Virginia Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with School Bus endorsement
- Minimum 1 year of driving experience or willingness to complete paid training
- Pass background check, drug screening, and DOT physical examination
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to manage student behavior calmly and professionally
- Strong attention to detail and punctuality
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and assist students with mobility needs
