Responsibilities
- Safely operate school buses following strict traffic laws and district protocols
- Conduct pre/post-trip inspections and maintain vehicle maintenance logs
- Manage student boarding, exiting, and conduct during transit
- Adhere to precise routes and schedules while ensuring on-time arrivals
- Implement emergency procedures and first aid when needed
- Communicate professionally with parents, staff, and dispatchers
- Complete daily attendance and incident reports accurately
Qualifications
- Valid Texas Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with School Bus endorsement
- Minimum 2 years driving experience with clean MVR
- Pass DOT physical, background check, and drug screening
- First Aid/CPR certification or willingness to obtain
- Excellent communication and conflict resolution skills
- Ability to manage student behavior calmly and effectively
- Proficient in GPS navigation and route optimization
- Must pass annual driving skills evaluations
