Responsibilities
- Safely operate school buses on designated routes following strict schedules
- Conduct pre-trip inspections and ensure vehicle maintenance
- Supervise student boarding, exiting, and behavior during transit
- Maintain accurate attendance and incident reports
- Communicate professionally with parents, school staff, and dispatchers
- Adhere to all federal, state, and district transportation regulations
- Respond calmly to emergencies and unexpected situations
Qualifications
- Valid North Carolina driver's license with clean driving record
- Ability to pass DOT physical and drug screening
- High school diploma or equivalent (GED)
- Experience working with children preferred
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to lift 25 lbs and navigate bus steps safely
- Pass background check and fingerprinting
- Must be at least 21 years old
