Responsibilities
- Safely operate school buses on designated routes adhering to traffic laws
- Conduct pre-trip inspections and maintain vehicle cleanliness
- Supervise student boarding, seating, and departure procedures
- Communicate professionally with parents, staff, and dispatch
- Follow strict safety protocols during emergencies and adverse weather
- Complete daily trip logs and incident reports
- Attend mandatory safety and training sessions
Qualifications
- Valid California Class B Commercial Driver's License (CDL)
- Pass Department of Transportation (DOT) physical exam
- Clear driving record (no major violations in past 3 years)
- Ability to obtain school bus endorsement (training provided)
- Strong communication and customer service skills
- Patience and ability to work with children
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs (e.g., emergency equipment)
- Flexibility to cover substitute routes as needed
