Responsibilities
- Safely operate school buses on designated routes following strict safety protocols
- Conduct pre-trip/post-trip vehicle inspections and report maintenance needs
- Manage student behavior with positive reinforcement and district policies
- Maintain accurate attendance records and route documentation
- Communicate effectively with parents, school staff, and dispatch
- Adapt routes during emergencies or weather conditions
- Ensure wheelchair accessibility when required
Qualifications
- Valid Texas Driver's License with clean driving record
- High school diploma or GED equivalent
- Ability to pass DOT physical and drug screening
- Background clearance through fingerprinting
- Patience and experience working with children
- Basic first aid/CPR certification (training provided)
- Ability to lift 50 lbs and assist students with mobility needs
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills
