Responsibilities
- Safely operate commercial trucks (dry van, refrigerated, or flatbed) for long-haul routes
- Adhere strictly to FMCSA regulations, HOS, and company safety protocols
- Plan and optimize routes using GPS systems for on-time deliveries
- Conduct thorough pre/post-trip inspections and document maintenance needs
- Maintain accurate logs (ELD), delivery receipts, and cargo manifests
- Communicate proactively with dispatch, customers, and warehouse teams
- Secure and protect high-value cargo during transit
- Assist with loading/unloading when required (no-touch freight available)
Qualifications
- Valid Class A CDL with clean MVR (no major violations in 3 years)
- Minimum 2 years verifiable tractor-trailer experience
- Ability to pass DOT physical and drug screening
- Night shift availability (6 PM - 6 AM schedule)
- Experience with electronic logging devices (ELDs)
- Knowledge of hazardous materials handling (HAZMAT certification a plus)
- Strong route planning and time management skills
- Ability to lift 50 lbs occasionally and sit for extended periods
