Responsibilities
- Safely operate commercial vehicles (Class A CDL required) to transport freight across designated routes
- Conduct pre/post-trip inspections and maintain accurate vehicle maintenance logs
- Plan efficient routes using GPS navigation while adhering to DOT regulations
- Load/unload cargo with proper securing techniques and documentation
- Communicate proactively with dispatch team regarding delivery status and delays
- Maintain compliance with Hours of Service (HOS) and safety protocols
- Represent Southwest Logistics professionally in all client interactions
Qualifications
- Valid Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with clean driving record
- Minimum 2 years verifiable tractor-trailer experience
- Ability to pass DOT physical and drug screening
- Proficiency in electronic logging devices (ELD) and basic navigation
- Strong attention to detail and time-management skills
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs repeatedly during loading/unloading
- Flexibility for regional overnight travel (home weekly)
- Pass background check and MVR verification
