Responsibilities
- Safely operate commercial trucks to transport freight across designated routes
- Conduct pre-trip inspections and maintain vehicle maintenance logs
- Load/unload cargo using proper equipment and safety protocols
- Adhere strictly to DOT regulations and delivery schedules
- Communicate effectively with dispatch and clients regarding shipment status
- Complete required documentation (BOLs, delivery confirmations, etc.)
- Provide exceptional customer service during delivery interactions
- Report accidents or incidents immediately per company policy
Qualifications
- Valid Class A CDL license with clean driving record
- Minimum 2 years commercial driving experience
- Ability to pass DOT physical and drug screening
- Familiarity with California highway systems and Chula Vista area
- Basic knowledge of freight handling and securement procedures
- Strong time management and route optimization skills
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs regularly
- Flexibility for early morning starts and occasional weekend shifts
