Responsibilities
- Safely operate commercial trucks (dry van, refrigerated, or flatbed) to transport freight across Louisiana and surrounding states
- Conduct pre-trip inspections and ensure vehicle compliance with DOT regulations
- Plan efficient routes using GPS technology to meet delivery deadlines
- Accurately document delivery paperwork and maintain electronic logs
- Communicate with dispatch team regarding shipment status and delays
- Load/unload cargo with appropriate equipment (e.g., forklift, pallet jack)
- Adhere to all safety protocols and company policies
Qualifications
- Valid Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with clean driving record
- Minimum 2 years of verifiable tractor-trailer experience
- Ability to pass DOT physical and drug screening
- Familiarity with FMCSA regulations and HOS compliance
- Strong time management and problem-solving skills
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work in various weather conditions
- Basic knowledge of GPS navigation and electronic logging devices
- High school diploma or equivalent required
