Job Overview:
We are currently expanding our operations in the Virginia Beach and North Carolina region. As a driver for Atlantic Coast Transport, you will be responsible for the safe and timely delivery of freight while maintaining a high standard of customer service.
Responsibilities
- Safely operate commercial trucks and trailers on highways and local routes.
- Conduct thorough pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections.
- Load and unload cargo using forklifts, pallet jacks, or by hand.
- Maintain accurate logs and documentation in compliance with DOT regulations.
- Ensure cargo is secure and protected from damage during transit.
- Communicate effectively with dispatch and customers regarding delivery status.
Qualifications
- Valid Commercial Driver's License (CDL) Class A or B.
- Minimum 2 years of verifiable commercial driving experience.
- Current DOT medical card and DOT physical.
- Clean Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) with no major violations.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform physical tasks associated with loading/unloading.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
