Responsibilities
- Safely operate commercial vehicles (Class A/B) to transport freight across designated routes
- Conduct pre/post-trip inspections and maintain accurate vehicle maintenance logs
- Adhere to DOT regulations and HOS compliance for all deliveries
- Coordinate with dispatch teams for real-time route adjustments and delivery confirmations
- Load/unload shipments with proper handling techniques and equipment
- Build positive client relationships through professional communication and on-time service
- Document all delivery exceptions and incidents according to company protocol
Qualifications
- Valid Class A CDL license with clean driving record (no major violations in past 3 years)
- Minimum 2 years verifiable commercial driving experience
- Pass DOT physical and drug screening requirements
- Proficiency with electronic logging devices and GPS navigation systems
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and operate loading equipment safely
- Strong time management skills and ability to work flexible schedules
- Knowledge of Kansas City metro area and surrounding regions
- HAZMAT endorsement preferred but not required
