Responsibilities
- Safely operate commercial motor vehicles (CMVs) in accordance with all federal, state, and local regulations.
- Load and unload cargo using proper equipment to ensure safety and prevent damage.
- Maintain accurate driver logs (DOT compliant) including Hours of Service (HOS) and trip records.
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections to identify and report any mechanical issues.
- Navigate efficiently to delivery points while adhering to strict delivery schedules and time windows.
- Interact professionally with customers, dispatchers, and warehouse personnel.
- Adhere to safety protocols and wear required personal protective equipment (PPE).
Qualifications
- Valid Commercial Driver's License (CDL) Class A or Class B (for Class A, Hazmat endorsement preferred).
- Must be at least 21 years of age for interstate driving.
- Clean driving record (MVR) with no serious traffic violations.
- Ability to pass a Department of Transportation (DOT) physical examination.
- Strong knowledge of traffic laws and road safety regulations.
- Basic mechanical skills to perform minor vehicle troubleshooting.
- Ability to lift heavy objects and work in varying weather conditions.
