Responsibilities
- Safely operate tractor-trailers over long distances while adhering to DOT regulations
- Perform pre/post-trip vehicle inspections and document maintenance reports
- Plan efficient routes to ensure timely delivery of freight
- Maintain electronic logs (ELD) and comply with Hours of Service (HOS) rules
- Communicate with dispatch and customers regarding shipment status
- Secure cargo according to safety standards
- Represent the company professionally at customer facilities
- Participate in safety training programs
Qualifications
- Valid CDL Class A license with clean driving record (no major violations in past 3 years)
- Minimum 2 years verifiable tractor-trailer experience
- Ability to pass DOT physical and drug screening
- Familiarity with North Carolina traffic laws and regional routes
- Basic knowledge of electronic logging devices (ELD)
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and climb into trailer compartments
- Strong time management and problem-solving skills
- Willingness to work flexible schedules including nights/weekends
