Responsibilities
- Safely operate commercial Class A trucks within Chicago and the greater Illinois region.
- Load and unload cargo using forklifts, straps, and chains, ensuring proper weight distribution.
- Maintain accurate daily logs (ELD) and complete all required DOT paperwork.
- Conduct thorough pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections to ensure roadworthiness.
- Adhere strictly to all traffic laws, company safety policies, and federal regulations.
- Communicate effectively with dispatch and customers to ensure timely deliveries.
- Keep the cab and cargo area clean and organized at all times.
Qualifications
- Valid Commercial Driver's License (CDL) Class A with a clean driving record.
- Minimum of 2 years of verifiable commercial driving experience.
- Ability to pass a Department of Transportation (DOT) physical examination.
- Strong knowledge of traffic laws, safety regulations, and cargo securement.
- Must be 21 years of age or older.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently.
