Responsibilities
- Safely operate commercial delivery vehicles (Class A or B CDL required) while adhering to all traffic laws and safety regulations.
- Load and unload freight accurately, ensuring cargo security and proper handling to prevent damage.
- Maintain accurate daily logs and electronic logging device (ELD) records as required by DOT regulations.
- Conduct thorough pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections to identify and report any mechanical issues.
- Communicate effectively with dispatch and customers regarding delivery schedules and route changes.
- Uphold the company's professional image and customer service standards at all times.
- Perform light maintenance tasks such as refueling and cleaning the cab and cargo area.
Qualifications
- Valid Commercial Driver's License (CDL) Class A or Class B with the required endorsements.
- Minimum of 2 years of verifiable driving experience in a commercial truck or delivery vehicle.
- Clean driving record (MVR) with no major violations in the past 3 years.
- Ability to pass a Department of Transportation (DOT) physical and drug screening.
- Strong knowledge of map reading, GPS navigation, and local Kansas City routes.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule, including weekends and holidays if necessary.
- Physically capable of lifting up to 50 lbs and standing for extended periods.
