Responsibilities
- Safely operate Class A commercial trucks over designated routes in and around Columbus, OH.
- Perform thorough pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections to ensure compliance with DOT regulations.
- Load and unload cargo securely, utilizing straps, chains, and tarps as required.
- Maintain accurate electronic logging device (ELD) records and all necessary delivery documentation.
- Adhere to all traffic laws, company safety policies, and federal regulations.
- Communicate effectively with dispatch and customers regarding delivery status and any delays.
- Report mechanical issues or maintenance needs immediately to the fleet maintenance department.
Qualifications
- Valid Commercial Driver's License (CDL) Class A with a clean driving record.
- Minimum of 1 year of verifiable tractor-trailer driving experience.
- Ability to pass a Department of Transportation (DOT) physical examination.
- Strong knowledge of interstate and intrastate traffic laws and DOT regulations.
- Willingness to submit to a background check and drug screening.
- Basic mechanical aptitude and ability to perform minor vehicle maintenance checks.
- Valid Medical Card (DOT compliant).
